Wizkid Announces Break From Music, Considers Career In Sport

Wizkid to consider career in Sport

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, the Afrobeats sensation known as Wizkid, just hinted at a massive 4 to 5-year music break, aiming to kick-start a career in football, golf, or FIFA gaming.

In the latest social media buzz, a disgruntled fan of the singer took to Instagram to slide into the artist’s DMs, expressing impatience and even issuing a threat, questioning if new music was in the pipeline.

Surprisingly, Wizkid found the fan’s outburst rather amusing and responded to the situation.

He disclosed that he’s currently on a well-deserved holiday and wishes to relish life. In a subsequent Instagram story, he hinted at a potential return in four years, emphasizing the importance of savoring the fruits of his labor.

In yet another slide, Wizkid mused that it might even stretch to five years before his musical comeback, contemplating possible ventures into football, golf, FIFA, or even the world of wrestling.

Wizkid however takes to Instagram to rant after sharing a message he received from a fan.

The ‘Essence’ hitmaker on Sunday, 5th November shared a message he received from a fan who raged because he hasn’t released a new song lately.

The fan went on to ask whether ‘Ogun’ (deity) is killing him.

This hiatus comes after the grandiose and star-studded burial ceremony he organized for his late mother almost a month ago in Lagos, a lavish event that captured significant attention.

Wizkid showed his emotional side at his late mother, Madam Juliana Morayo Balogun’s wake service.

According to the music superstar, he didn’t even believe he would be able to speak at the event, but he gave thanks to all of his sisters, his uncles and other family members.
